Close To You

The Carpenters兄妹是一对欧美兄妹组合，是上世纪70年代家喻户晓的乐团。他们共演唱500余首歌曲，几乎都是自己做词作曲。主唱是妹妹Karen Carpenter，而伴唱及演奏就是哥哥Richard Carpenter负责。他们有着许多的成名曲，其中包括：Yesterday Once More, Top of The World, 以及这首洗涤心灵的Close To You。可惜年轻的Karen过早的因为神经性厌食症(anorexia nervosa,)离世于1983年2月4日，年仅33岁，Carpenters兄妹从此解散，也是一大遗憾……

曾有段时间很喜欢在入睡前听着Close To You，Karen天使般的嗓音，配上温暖的小号独奏与柔润的和声，让平静的夜晚显得额外地平静舒服。Dionne Warwick和Dusty Springfield都演唱过这首歌，但但始终没有走红。Carpenters兄妹的改编翻唱，让这首歌重生登顶，停留在Billboard Hot 100的榜首四个星期。鉴于在这张专辑中的突出表现，卡朋特兄妹获得了该年度格莱美“最佳新人”和“最佳流行合唱团体”两项大奖。

后Carpenters时代，也有不少歌手重新演绎这首歌曲。甚至到了几十年后的今天，我们经常会在一些晚宴中，特别是婚宴听见这歌曲的出现。喜欢看The Simpsons的朋友，你们应该也只是这是Homer和Marge的“饮歌”，在卡通中已经出现了好几次。
